8. With a totally free hand and no money restraints, which of these best describes the sitting room that you would design for yourself

A bright, airy room with lots of green plants. The French windows lead straight out into the garden or terrace. The curtains may be ruched or frilled and there may well be a floral pattern somewhere - curtains, sofa, and cushions. The wood will be blonde, pine or ash, wicker or cane. The atmosphere is informal and there are plenty of ornaments and mementoes on display.
A graceful, high-ceilinged room furnished with exquisite antiques, fine quality carpeting or perhaps a polished parquet floor and Chinese carpets or rugs. The elegant curtains are of flowing silk moiré with net or chiffon inner curtains. There are expensive vases here and there containing freshly cut flowers. The whole atmosphere is one of calm order and no clutter. This is gracious living.
A room whose focal point is the fireplace, inglenook, brick or stone, with an oak mantel. The floor is varnished boards strewn with Persian or Turkish rugs, or is carpeted in thick Berber. Several large rubber plants are dotted about and bookshelves line at least one wall. Large, squashy armchairs and sofas, a large wooden coffee table, beamed ceiling. Curtains are muslin or linen, or other textured fabrics. The atmosphere is of solid comfort.
A stunningly simple room; there is plenty of glass, perhaps in the coffee table or a larger mirrored area.. It is minimally furnished, but everything is extremely expensive and dramatically avant garde. The upholstery may be leather and windows have blinds rather than curtains. The main color scheme is achromatic, but with dramatic accents of color here and there. There are no floral decorations, but striking small modern sculptures instead. The atmosphere is impressive and futuristic.

Watercolors
Impressionism
Oil paintings
Etchings or line drawing

Motivate others with your enthusiasm

Lead from the front, never asking others to do anything which you are not prepared to do yourself
Take an overview, and concentrate on the most effective delegation

11. A group of you are gathered for a social occasion. The hostess announces that the event is in jeopardy because the babysitter has just phoned to say she cannot come, and can anyone find another babysitter at such short notice. Would you:

Remembering that your aunt’s best friend knew a treasure of a babysitter five years ago, set about trying to locate this paragon.
Simply consult your neat notebook of useful information and find the perfect solution
Spend considerable time and energy on how and why the babysitter could be so unreliable, before addressing the problem and probably solving it
Be unlikely to register the question.

Answers

Your are more likely to be:

Springs are relatively delicate and externally motivated. They are warm, light and friendly extroverts, outgoing, gregarious, excellent communicators but not especially good with anything heavy or deep. They need a lot of light. Springs are light-hearted, motivators, risk takers, optimists and general lovers of life.

Summers are delicate, internally motivated and light. They are contained, cool, calm and collected, understated and crave order and balance. They do not comment on everything but they miss little. They are perceptive and highly intelligent. Summers are reserved, careful, graceful and are true lovers of people.

Autumns have depth and intensity. They are externally motivated and more intense than Springs. They are fiery, get involved, have inquiring minds and question everything. They reject anything flimsy, invalid or insubstantial. Substance is more important than style. They are initially sceptical but, once convinced, commit themselves passionately. Autumns are self-motivators, dependable, encouraging and mature.

Winters are strong, internally motivated and intense. One treats these people instinctively with respect. They do not need to indulge in tantrums or create drama - theirs is an innate quality. They are perfectionists, efficient, forward thinking and do not suffer fools gladly. They need a sense of space. Winters are dramatic, sophisticated, and demonstrate crystal clarity and power.
